Assistant Head Teacher job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional teacher and leader who is passionate about high-quality education, curriculum development and improving outcomes for all children. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping teaching and learning across the school whilst supporting the strategic direction of the school as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will have particular expertise within EYFS and Key Stage 1 and will lead and support the development of these phases to ensure the very best outcomes for our youngest learners.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a proven track record of outstanding classroom practice, particularly within EYFS and/or KS1

  • Has senior leadership experience

  • Has a secure understanding of curriculum design, early learning, phonics, teaching, learning and assessment

  • Can inspire, coach and develop colleagues to achieve consistently high standards

  • Is committed to inclusion and achieving the very best outcomes for every child

  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community

  • Shares our values, ambition and commitment to continuous improvement

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and support EYFS and KS1 development across the school

  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning and assessment

  • Support monitoring, coaching and professional development for staff

  • Contribute fully to school improvement and strategic leadership

  • Work collaboratively within Evolution Academy Trust and across schools
