Salary: Leadership Pay scale RP 12 – 16 (£61,882 – £68,400) dependent upon experience and expertise

Start date: From Summer term 2024 or sooner where possible
We are looking to recruit an experienced professional leader to continue our work to ensure that all students are able to access the full range of learning opportunities available at our school. The successful candidate will be working alongside experienced colleagues and, will manage a team of dedicated SEND support staff and play a full role in the Leadership Team of the school.
The Assistant Head Teacher- SEND Lead will take lead responsibility to:
- Communicating the school’s vision compellingly and supporting the headteacher’s strategic leadership
- The day-to-day management of the school, specifically responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual children with SEN or a disability
- Formulating the aims and objectives of the school with a particular focus on the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school
- Managing staff and resources to that end, providing professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
The SEND lead will be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD
The job requires a person who:
• Is an excellent teacher with SEN Co qualification or working towards it
• Has experience of leading and delivering quality policies and provision for SEND
• Ability to build effective working relationships
• Can lead and be part of a team
The postholder may be required to do other duties appropriate to the level of the role as required. The postholder is required to work within the framework of national legislation and in accordance with the provisions of the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document
