JOB VACANCY – ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER
Post Commencement: Required September 2023
Contract: Established
Hours: 1.0 FTE
Salary: £46,735 - £51,402 per annum

The successful candidate will be:
- Able to show evidence of a high standard of classroom practice;
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills and flexibility;
- Able to demonstrate skill at co-ordinating or managing people;
- Prepared to engage in continuous professional development to build on skill base and develop
confidence in methods to support pupils and staff.

What the school offers its staff
As a Special School, we believe what we offer to our children, community and staff is unique and enables us to be forward thinking in terms of curriculum, provision and budget planning. As a specialist school for children with a wide range of SEN needs we have a strong moral compass in everything we do and this has seen us develop and grow our number on roll (currently 125). Our specialisms are predominantly within Autism, Communication Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
Our staff are our greatest asset and we invest in both our teaching and support staff CPD which has placed us in a good position with regards to current educational challenges.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic teachers with appropriate experience who are willing to take more whole school responsibility. As well as having a teaching commitment the successful candidate will be required to lead on teaching and learning and will play a major role under the overall direction of the Headteacher in:
- Developing outstanding practice;
- Formulating the aims and objectives of the Academy;
- Establishing policies through which they are to be achieved;
- Management of staff and resources to this end;
- Monitoring progress towards their achievement.
