Assistant Headteacher (Academic) job summary

We wish to appoint a highly skilled and committed Assistant Headteacher Academic. Working closely with our Deputy Headteacher Academic, you will focus on ensuring we provide an enriching curriculum and that teaching and learning is of the highest standard. You may be an experienced Assistant Headteacher looking for a new challenge or you may be a successful middle leader ready to take your first step into senior leadership.

Our academic team consists of the Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher who work alongside the Heads of Department, the school’s Data Manager, and the timetabling team. Therefore, you are likely to have experience in some of the following areas: teaching and learning, staff professional development, curriculum and timetabling, or examinations and assessment.

As a selective state grammar school, our students achieve impressive outcomes placing us as one of the top state schools in the country for academic achievement. Our students progress onto a range of competitive destinations, including a high number of students achieving places at Oxbridge or on medical related courses.

However, we are not solely academic but are also driven by a desire to ensure we offer rich opportunities for personal development, including ones focused on building confident and considerate young people.
