Working in close partnership with the Headteacher and SLT, you will help shape and deliver the academy’s vision, values and inclusive ethos.

You will lead on SEND provision, ensuring high-quality teaching, effective interventions and outstanding outcomes for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. A key part of this role is driving whole-school improvement in inclusion, overseeing EHCPs and Personal Learning Plans, and ensuring strong partnerships with parents/carers, external agencies and the local authority. You will also play a central role in safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and staff development to promote a safe, supportive and aspirational learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for all pupils and contributing to the strategic direction of a thriving academy.

We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner with proven leadership experience and the ability to motivate, challenge and support colleagues. A forward thinking leader who is passionate about inclusion and improving life chances for all learners. Requirements for the role include:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong leadership experience in SEND within a primary setting
  • Proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
  • Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements
  • Ability to lead, inspire and develop staff effectively

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion, and share the Trust’s values and vision for excellence in education.

In return, we offer a supportive Trust environment, high-quality professional development opportunities, and the chance to work collaboratively with colleagues across our academies. This role provides excellent preparation for future senior leadership and headship.

Bishop Lonsdale is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake enhanced DBS checks and other relevant pre-employment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
