What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, ambitious Assistant Headteacher to join our team. The successful candidate will not only inspire and support at Holy Trinity, Winsham and Buckland, but will also join a group of passionate leaders to further develop our organisation together. Your professional development will be bespoke and you will be supported by the Headteachers and Trust leaders to strengthen and hone your leadership skills. You will automatically be part of the Trust’s Talent Management programme where you will have opportunities to grow and develop further.
In addition, and with regards to inclusion, the successful candidate will be expected to:
- Support SEND children and their families through identifying barriers to learning and adopting strategies that help overcome these
- Demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive education for all children through working with staff and families to formulate personal plans for improvement
- Use a knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and understand the EHCP process and Early Help services to support pupils and families
- Work alongside teachers to provide advice and develop impactful class strategies
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of SEND provision across the school
- Form positive relationships; inspire and motivate all children to enable them to be the best that they can be
- Keep up to date and accurate records of support and the impact regarding SEND provision
- Review and update all records to ensure that statutory requirements are met
- Work in partnership with the Headteacher, LAB and wider community to ensure that our mission and ethos is translated into action
- Participate in Trust-wide inclusion meetings
- Attend meetings with parents, teachers and other providers to ensure all pupils’ needs are met
- Ensure an inclusive school experience for al learners, not just those with SEND
- Work with the wider Pastoral Team (Pastoral Lead, SEND Manager, and Nurture Lead) to close the gap for vulnerable and disadvantaged learners
- In addition to the above the Assistant Headteacher will be expected to carry out any further duties that the Headteacher may deem necessary in line with the role responsibilities
