Assistant Headteacher Behaviour and Culture job summary
Thank you for your interest in becoming our Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour and Culture. We are looking for a committed leader who can secure high expectations, positive relationships and disruption-free learning across our school, ensuring every student can thrive and every teacher can teach with confidence.
Litcham School, part of the Synergy Multi-Academy Trust, is an inclusive and community-focused school serving children aged 4-16 through our all-through provision. We are proud of our warm, family ethos and our commitment to knowing every child as an individual, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, conduct and attitudes to learning. As a Trust, Synergy champions collaboration, shared expertise and equitable opportunities for all, offering access to strong leadership networks and professional development.
We are on a positive and focused improvement journey centred around consistency, high standards and strong daily routines, ensuring that every student can learn, and every teacher can teach, free from disruption. Our approach is relational. Built on mutual respect, clear boundaries, fair systems and strong professional presence - with support and accountability through working together.
Litcham is located in a friendly rural Norfolk community with strong relationships between school, families and local organisations. Our setting offers the advantages of a close-knit, community-driven culture, while maintaining access to wider professional networks and Trust-level development opportunities.
We are seeking a leader who is visible, proactive, confident and purposeful; someone who can combine firm, consistent standards with empathy, dignity and professional judgement. You will champion our behaviour and culture strategy, lead staff with clarity and confidence, and model the highest expectations for adults and students alike.
If you are motivated by helping young people thrive, enabling teachers to deliver their best, and leading a culture that feels safe, calm, aspirational and respectful, we would be delighted to receive your application.

Synergy Multi Academy Trust
Litcham School is an ‘all through’ school which is one of 15 schools within Synergy Multi Academy Trust. Other Synergy secondary schools are Reepham High School & College, Sheringham High School and Stalham High School. Synergy MAT grew significantly in September 2021 when the North Norfolk Academies Trust (NNAT) merged with Synergy. Synergy already enjoys effective and productive trust wide collaboration, which is particularly strong in its primary schools, and the merger has paved the way for the next stage of collaboration between secondary schools. We expect being part of this collaboration will offer excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, but particularly at Senior Leadership level. This enhanced collaboration is now in its second year. To find out more about Synergy MAT, please visit its website www.synergymat.org.uk
Litcham School
Litcham School is an excellent school across both the Primary and the Secondary Phases. Outcomes have been strong for several years and our recently published Ofsted Graded inspection report judged the school to be Good in all areas. We firmly believe high quality Personal Development is the foundation of outstanding school–pupil rapport, pupils feeling a sense of belonging to and ownership of the school, positive school-community links and subsequent pupil progress.
