Are you an inspirational leader with a heart for special education?
Fern House School, a vibrant and forward thinking special school for pupils aged 5-16, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join our dynamic team. This is more than a job; it is an opportunity to make a real difference.
You will play a vital role in contributing to the school's next exciting phase of growth, working alongside the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a truly inclusive and impactful curriculum.
As Assistant Headteacher, you will be instrumental in several key areas: you will lead the development and implementation of an innovative, inclusive curriculum specifically tailored to the diverse needs of pupils with SEND. This includes championing best practices in special education to ensure our teaching and learning is at the forefront of the field, and driving high-quality, differentiated teaching practices to empower every pupil to reach their full potential. You will also be responsible for implementing robust assessment and progress monitoring systems to accurately track and celebrate pupil achievement, and for providing strategic staff development and support within your remit, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Finally, you will cultivate an inclusive and positive school environment, where safeguarding is always prioritised and positive behaviour is actively promoted.
Fern House School offers a truly unique working environment: we are nurturing & neuro informed, committed to building secure attachments and ensuring every child feels understood. Our tailored curriculum is designed for success, empowering every learner to achieve. You will join a supportive team within a passionate, inclusive community, working in modern facilities that boast a brand new, state-of-the-art learning environment. We prioritise staff growth, offering outstanding development opportunities within a 'good' school that has 'outstanding' personal development. Furthermore, we provide enhanced pay & wellbeing, including generous incentives and a focus on your wellbeing, all while working with our inspiring pupils who truly make a difference every day.
We are strongly committed to providing high-quality professional development and career progression for all staff as part of the Connect Education Trust. We constantly review our practices to ensure our staff can focus on what matters most: creating a rich learning environment where children can thrive. We offer significant opportunities to collaborate with colleagues both within Fern House School and across the wider Trust. At Fern House School, we encourage expertise by enabling staff to get involved in curriculum developments in areas that genuinely interest them. We foster a supportive atmosphere where staff develop their own practice by working together to create remarkable futures for all pupils.
