Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion job summary
Specific Responsibilities
To act as a key point of contact for SEND within the school.
To ensure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of care, learning and achievement for all pupils.
To develop and maintain SEND subject matter knowledge in line with the National Agenda.
To promote a collaborative leadership culture both in mainstream and PMLD provision.
To present a positive impact on the experiences of children and young people with health needs relating to SEND and their families.
To provide a key point of contact within the school to facilitate strategic partnerships in relation to SEND.
To strengthen health provider leadership for SEND and strengthen health provider voice alongside health commissioners, to facilitate, joint working across the Local Authority SEND section.
To improve quality of education to statutory assessment process and annual review of EHCPs through joint work with Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
To provide subject matter expertise in relation to SEND.
To set up processes to ensure sharing of information is up to date and meaningful for families.
To effectively manage and develop teachers and support staff reporting annually to Executive Headteacher / Headteacher / Deputy Headteachers.
To contribute to the strategic development of the school
To work in collaboration with families and external agencies
T To support the Acting Director of HR, Headteacher/Head of School, Executive Head on all matters related to HR.
To support teachers and support staff so all students achieve their potential within an atmosphere in which students feel challenged, valued, and secure.
To support the raising of attainment of all pupils in the school working in collaboration with subject teachers,
Working with SENDCo, Heads of Department, Senior Leaders, parents/carers and external partners
