The Role

This is a strategic leadership opportunity to shape inclusive education at Whalley Range 11-18 High School. As Assistant Headteacher and Head of Inclusion, you will lead the development and delivery of SEND provision across the school, ensuring outstanding outcomes for students with additional needs. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, staff, families, and external agencies to embed inclusive practices, oversee EHCPs and transition programmes, and champion wellbeing and personal development. This role also includes line management responsibilities across key inclusion teams and contributes to whole-school improvement and leadership.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced leader with a strong track record in SEND and inclusion. You’ll bring SENCO experience (and ideally a qualification), deep knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, and the ability to use data to drive improvement. You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to foster strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and lead effective CPD. Resilience, ambition, and a commitment to equity and excellence are essential, along with the ability to inspire others and contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking leadership team.
