Assistant Headteacher (Head of Sixth Form) job summary
Silverdale School is seeking to appoint an outstanding and compassionate Assistant Headteacher - Head of Sixth Form, to join our highly successful Senior Leadership Team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and values-driven leader to shape and lead a thriving Sixth Form, ensuring that every student is supported to achieve exceptional outcomes and progress to ambitious next steps.
As Head of Sixth Form, you will provide strategic leadership of our post-16 provision, creating a culture of high expectations, strong relationships and clear ambition. You will lead on student progress, wellbeing and destinations, ensuring that all students are known, supported and challenged to succeed. You will also play a key role in shaping a rich Sixth Form experience, including academic excellence, personal development and meaningful enrichment opportunities.
We are looking for a leader who:

Silverdale School is an extremely popular and high-achieving 11-18 comprehensive in the south west of Sheffield and is now the founding school of Chorus Education Trust. The school achieved the best GCSE results in 2018 of any state school in Sheffield. At Post 16 the progress students make places Silverdale in the top 10% of schools nationally. At its heart is one of the country’s largest Teaching Schools, the Sheffield Teaching School Alliance. Silverdale moved into a brand new building in January 2009 with a full complement of facilities. Silverdale School is part of Chorus Education Trust, and as such all appointees may be required to work at any Trust site in the future.
