We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, who is a qualified SENCO, to join our Senior Management Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate leader to play a key role in shaping inclusive practice across the school while continuing to work directly with children in the classroom.
About the Role
As Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion, you will:
- Be a member of the Senior Management Team, working alongside two Assistant Headteachers, the Deputy Headteacher and the Headteacher.
- Provide strategic leadership for Inclusion and SEND, ensuring excellent provision and outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
- Lead and manage the SEND team, including the SENDCO, supporting staff development, practice and wellbeing.
- Lead and managing a year group team.
- Fulfil the statutory duties in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Lead phonics across the school, supporting staff, monitoring impact and securing consistently high standards.
- Teach for 3.25 days per week initially in KS1 modelling inclusive, high-quality classroom practice.
- Have 1.75 days per week for leadership, management and PPA time.

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status and is a qualified SENCO (or willing to complete the qualification).
- Has a strong understanding of inclusive education and SEND provision.
- Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
- Has experience of leading, supporting and motivating staff.
- Has a clear understanding of early reading and phonics and their importance for all learners.
- Is committed to collaboration, reflection and continued professional development.
- Shares our inclusive values and ambition for every child.
