The Headteacher, Kathryn Marshall, the Chair of Trustees, Alison Munden and the Vice Chair, Gary O’Flaherty are excited to announce this exciting opportunity to lead in a very popular, happy, steady, welcoming school.

Are you ready to join a team that thrives on the spirit of adventures with our students and staff, opportunities for all, high expectations without fear and a very strong sense of community?

A unique opportunity to join our Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher has arisen, owing to the promotion of one of our current team members to work with the Local Authority within their Inclusion Team.

We now seek to appoint an inspirational person with:

1) Strong, assertive, positive and engaging leadership presence around school with all colleagues and young people alike, no matter the challenges of the day;

2) Passion for and experience in Safeguarding, Attendance, Inclusion and SEND;

3) Resolve to sustain strong, transparent partnerships with parents, carers, agencies and other local community members, even in times of challenge or complaint;

4) Excellent leadership capacity, a commitment to self-improvement, reflection and professional learning;

5) A proven track record of rapidly and/or sustainably raising standards and progress across the school in the areas in which you currently work and lead;

6) A cracking sense of humour and of kindness, and real joy for the job and education, all our students, and our entire Noadswood family.

We are very excited to talk to you, if you:

- Are passionate, creative, relentless yet humane about a safe, inclusive culture across our school, and about driving up standards and progress right across all the areas you lead;

- Make no excuses for the capacity of any child and you inspire confidence in colleagues to have the highest expectations for all;

- Have experience of leading teams that fuse superb care for safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing with the highest aspirations and interventions for academic success, enabling happiness, determination and excellent progress;

- Have energy, presence, gravitas and integrity with colleagues, students, parents, partner schools and agencies alike;

- Demonstrate credibility as an excellent teaching practitioner in your subject(s);

- Understand to your core and exude the leadership behaviours of trustworthiness, honesty, shared values and language, and empowerment of others,

- Have a commitment to research-informed practice, particularly but not exclusively re safeguarding, inclusion or behaviour,

- Are committed to your own professional learning and in the development of other colleagues in our school;

- Have a passion for areas of leadership about which you have experience as well as the flexibility to develop your skills and experience in others.

- If you understand why a litter picker is an important tool of leadership!

What makes Noadswood terrific? Is it:
• Quality specialist teachers across a rich and varied curriculum, and a super record in academic outcomes, Dance, Performing Arts, Poetry and Sport?
• Our pastoral system, combining a proud culture of a House system overarching our year groups, giving young people membership of smaller communities within the school?
• Our drive for the best possible progress for all through research based teaching and learning?
• The way we listen to our students' and colleagues’ ideas for their wellbeing and their community, and bring them all to life?
• The care we have for our parent community, and their suggestions, views and concerns?
It's because of ALL of the above but overarching all of this, it's because we are a warm, welcoming school. We are passionate about educational excellence and to sustaining an honest, kind, inclusive community - we are strongly united on our very best days, at challenging times and at all points in between.
