Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral) job summary
About this role
The post holder will be highly visible and respected amongst students and staff. The Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral) will lead the provision of pastoral care throughout the school, ensuring the emotional, physical and intellectual wellbeing of all students and work closely with the Deputy Head for Inclusion. They will be required to inspire confidence amongst students, parents and the pastoral team. We are looking for a strategic thinker to help shape and lead a coherent and innovative whole-school approach to inclusion. The post holder will work with the Leadership Team to identify and remove any barriers to students’ sense of belonging so they develop excellent character foundations and - as a result - achieve their full academic potential.
What skills / experience are required
The successful applicant must be an excellent teacher with a strong track record of contributing to and leading on excellence in pastoral care, safeguarding and inclusion. They must have exceptionally high expectations in all aspects of school life.
