Bradfield Secondary School is a thriving 11–16 academy within the INOVA Multi-Academy Trust, serving over 1,000 students. Rated “Good” by Ofsted in 2025, the school continues to grow in reputation and ambition. We are now seeking an inspirational Assistant Headteacher to join our highly successful leadership team, helping to ensure every pupil is supported to achieve exceptional progress and outcomes.
Job Overview
Bradfield Secondary School prepares pupils to thrive in a world that is technologically advanced, dynamic, and diverse. As Assistant Headteacher for Quality of Education, you will play a pivotal role in realising this vision by leading the strategic development of teaching, learning, and curriculum across the school.
Central to this role is a deep understanding that high-quality education is driven by the effective implementation of SEND strategy and intelligent use of pedagogical technology, and that these are not peripheral initiatives but fundamental levers for equity, inclusion, and excellence.
You will ensure that every pupil—regardless of background, ability, or need—receives an education that nurtures curiosity, deep knowledge, independence, and strong moral foundations. Our ambition to eradicate the disadvantaged gap and secure exceptional progress for all underpins all strategic decision-making.
This position sits at the heart of a collaborative, innovative, and ambitious staff culture. We believe every member of staff has a profound impact on pupils’ daily lives, and we are committed to continuous improvement. In the spirit of the kaizen philosophy, we expect all colleagues to model openness, humility, and a daily commitment to getting better.
The successful candidate will actively foster a culture where feedback is routinely sought, assumptions are challenged, and practice is refined through professional dialogue and reflection.
You will champion this culture by empowering teachers, celebrating innovation, and ensuring that feedback is embraced as a driver for measurable improvement in classroom practice and pupil outcomes.
You will lead a team of professionals who love working with young people and who share a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn from one another, and a belief that success extends far beyond academic results. You will expect colleagues to
engage critically with evidence, implementation quality, and impact, ensuring that strategies translate into improved learning experiences for pupils.
This is an opportunity to shape a school where childhood is valued, where staff are trusted as experts, and where pupils are encouraged to work hard and embrace challenge. Your leadership will help ensure that Bradfield Secondary School remains a place where students grow into compassionate, resilient young people who are ready to make a positive impact on the world.
We are looking for a leader who:
• Is an inspirational teacher with a strong understanding of evidence-informed pedagogical approaches. • Has a strong track record of impact and leadership, with a passion for developing teachers and curriculum. • Is committed to leading with compassion, integrity and clarity. • Can inspire students and staff to achieve the very best outcomes. • Has the ability to develop systems and structures that secure excellence. •Has a robust understanding of SEND strategy and its role in driving high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils. • Can accurately evaluate the efficacy of teaching and learning strategies, diagnosing strengths and weaknesses in implementation rather than relying on surface-level indicators. • Is committed to continual professional learning, including developing their own understanding of pedagogical technology and its effective application in the classroom. • Actively seeks feedback, questions assumptions, and models reflective, enquiry-driven leadership.
We can offer you:
• A highly effective Senior Leadership Team who are committed to staff wellbeing and a healthy work-life balance.
• First-class professional learning opportunities
• A modern, state-of-the-art building – with the absolute best views in Sheffield!
• The opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant young people in Sheffield.
· Regular Trust wide conferences to collaborate with leaders across INOVA to ensure our practice remains cutting edge.
For visits to the school – please contact Jo Redfearn, PA to the Headteacher via email.
Closing date: 9:00am Sunday 10th May 2026
Interviews (provisionally): Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th May 2026
