Assistant Headteacher – Teaching & Learning

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher from September 2019, who has a track record of outstanding classroom practice and the ability to lead improvement in academic standards and student outcomes. As a member of SLT, the Assistant Headteacher will play an important role in the overall leadership and management of the school. In particular, you will work closely with the Headteacher to lead and develop outstanding teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the school’s career professional development and training processes, including Initial Teacher Training. You will have:

-a proven track record of leading and managing a team to raise attainment and examination results at Key Stage 4
-a track record of outstanding teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4
-the knowledge and skills to lead on career professional development and training programmes
-significant relevant experience of contributing to whole school issues
-proven ability and enthusiasm to motivate students and staff
-the ability to raise expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities
-an understanding of effective strategies for urban schools.
