2025 is an exciting year for Glenvale Primary School as we embark on a brand-new chapter - and you could be part of our success!
The role of a leader in the lives of pupils, their families and colleagues is a special and rewarding responsibility, and being able to establish this position within a brand-new school is a rare opportunity to take with both hands.
We are excited to be recruiting for an Assistant Headteacher to join our community, to provide professional leadership and effective practice, to promote our shared vision for excellence in teaching, learning and progression, whilst pursuing the growth of our school.
We have been proud to be part of the Wilby community for over 170 years, but in 2023 we secured the opportunity to move into a fantastic new purpose build school building, in the Glenvale Park development. We moved to this new space in September 2024 and so, there is now no better time to join our community as an Assistant Headteacher.
We are committed to inspiring our children to learn within a kind, caring and nurturing environment following key Christian values and Jesus’ example.
This role will focus upon heightening expectations and outcomes in teaching and learning, working closely with the Headteacher, SLT and Trust to support shared best practice, effective communication and contributing to a culture where pupils experience positive and enriching school life. We would be proud to welcome a passionate, determined and knowledgeable leader, to support in our strategic development, whilst supporting and engaging with our colleagues as we strive to sustain high ‘Quality First Teaching and Learning.’
Expectations are high and the successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, with thorough understanding of curriculum standards, to obtain the best outcomes for all pupils and colleagues.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has recent, successful experience in the classroom and is looking for an opportunity to take the next step in their leadership career.
- Has the skills to lead, improve and sustain academic achievement for all children, who has high expectations for children’s learning, and can foster collaborative working and living our values every day.
- Someone who is up to date with current research around Quality First Teaching and Early Years practice.
- Ensures all children feel safe, happy and able to learn to the best of their ability and reach their potential.
- Has the ability to develop effective relationships with pupils, parents and external agencies in order to support pupils’ smooth transition into school and is an excellent communicator.
- Is confident in leading a team, developing the vision and having the drive to move it forwards
- Able to create a stimulating and inviting learning environment adapted to suit the needs of the pupils.
- Supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
Please see the attached Job Description to review all details of this role.
We can offer you:
- A working atmosphere that is very much like one big family, from the children to the parents, staff and Governors. Every child is known by their name by every member of staff.
- A school with six key values embedded in our everyday school life – Compassion, Forgiveness, Friendship, Hope, Serving Others and Thankfulness.
- An exciting opportunity to work within the wider aspirational SLT team that want to embrace your talents and skills.
- Excellent CPD through being part of the Peterborough Diocesan Academy (PDET).
