What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an outstanding senior leader who can work with the Governors, Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher for Quality of Education to provide strategic leadership and management across the school.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership and Management Team you will lead:

  • the realisation of the school’s aims and objectives: formalising and implementing policies and raising standards of student attainment and achievement to ensure all students make at least expected progress.
  • on learning and teaching across the school and develop policies and procedures and staff training to facilitate effective learning and the very best outcomes for all students.
  • the school’s CPD programme for teachers and ensure that all statutory elements are included, as well as developmental experiences based upon the needs of the organisation and its staff.

The Radclyffe School is a popular 11-16 maintained Foundation (Co-operative) Trust school in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham. The Governing Body has direct responsibility for the employment of staff, its finances, the running of the school and the outcomes it achieves. It is a larger than average secondary school with 1500 mixed gender students on roll. The school is full in every year group. Over 70% of students are from ethnic minority backgrounds, most of whom are of Pakistani or Bangladeshi heritage. Some 30% of students qualify for free school meals or a clothing grant to help with the purchase of school uniform.
