Assistant Headteacher job summary
Recently graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted (December 2021), we are looking for an inspirational, enthusiastic and creative leader and teacher to join our team as our new Assistant Headteacher. The whole Senior Leadership Team work across the Federation in a fluid way, however, for the academic year 2022/23, this Assistant Headteacher will be based in Weston Park Primary School with the responsibility for the Early Years and KS1 phase. The role does include some teaching responsibility which can be discussed at interview but is approximately half of the week. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will lead a year group and a key subject or area of focus from the federation improvement plan.
Tours of our school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
The purpose of the Assistant Headteacher is to play a major role:
in formulating the aims, objectives of the schools and establishing the policies through which they are to be achieved
in being responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils including monitoring of progress towards achievement
proactively manage staff and resources
The individual will show the following qualities:
• Possess a clear understanding of the essential qualities necessary for effective teaching and learning and demonstrate high quality teaching strategies
• Able to lead and manage a school team to successfully achieve agreed goals
• Has a proven track record as an excellent middle leader
• Be an effective team player that works collaboratively and effectively with others

• Is dedicated to making a real difference to the lives of children
