Assistant Headteacher job summary

As an Assistant Headteacher, you will help maintain the ethos of the academy by driving our organisational culture and drive. The successful applicant will support the strategic leadership of Winifred Holtby Academy as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, by providing effective leadership and management for a designated area for the academy’s work and by leading a specific strand of the School Development Plan.

The successful candidate will have experience of safeguarding practices in a school / academy context; explicitly, how to keep children safe from the risk of harm and be able to promote good behaviour consistently and be confident in de-escalation strategies. They will understand what highly effective practice looks like in their field of responsibility as week as knowing how to diagnose and implement effective strategies to raise standards

About You

Candidates will be educated to degree level, have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), evidence of appropriate and continuous further professional development a commitment to further training.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading a team at year group, subject or faculty level with demonstrable impact or experience of leading at a whole-academy level.
