We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and approachable Assistant Inclusion Manager for our additional provision “The Nest” to join a very successful behavioural team.
The Nest, embodying nurture, education, support, and teaching, is a haven within our school. Just as a nest cradled in delicate branches becomes the launchpad for a young bird, our program provides a safe and supportive environment for students to flourish. Nests are built high, and like fledglings taking flight, we aim to empower our students to reach for their full potential. When they leave our care, they will be well-supported, nurtured, and equipped to achieve great things.
The successful candidate will coordinate and support school strategies for vulnerable children. They will also work closely with The Nest Manager and the Senior Leadership Team to address the needs of children who need support to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside school in order to achieve their full potential.
As The Assistant Nest Inclusion Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative educational strategies tailored to meet the needs of our students who have struggled to thrive in the mainstream school. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure our students receive the highest quality education and support.
This role is focused on implementing a transformative approach to learning in a smaller, nurturing space, where students are able to focus on not only academic learning and skills but also those for life.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deputise in the absence of The Nest Inclusion Manager.
- Facilitate and support the additional provision team to deliver outstanding educational outcomes.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans for students, focusing on academic, social, and emotional development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement and well-being.
- Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and caregivers to provide holistic support for students.
- Monitor and evaluate alongside The Nest Manager the effectiveness of the provision, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Develop and deliver the focus on reflective and restorative practices, and positive reinforcement
- Train and coach staff in utilising restorative practices to address student behaviour concerns
- Facilitate restorative conversations to address conflict and build positive relationships between students and staff
- Monitor the identification and implementation of behaviour support plans for The Nest students with additional needs and challenges
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop inclusive teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles
- Build strong relationships with The Nest students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting student well-being and behaviour.
You will have very good interpersonal skills and be confident in dealing with students, staff and parents on a day-to-day basis.
Desirable skills:
- Experience working in secondary education, ideally within an inclusion or pastoral role.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on collaboration and professional development.
- Data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Benefits of working for our trust include:
- Friendly and sociable colleagues.
- RAISE a Hand day: One day per academic year — a fully paid day off to support personal events.
- Two-week October half term: Providing staff and students with an extended break during the autumn term.
