Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning job summary

As our Assistant Principal you will be a full member of the Academy’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) sharing strategic leadership responsibilities as directed by the Principal, with their SLT colleagues. This will include the performance management and line management of staff.
You will have collective responsibility with other members of the SLT for ensuring a positive ethos and effective learning environment throughout the Academy, which leads to high rates of student progress and the achievement of high standards. You will report to the Vice Principal for Teaching, Training and Inclusion along with working with the Principal and Senior Vice Principal in establishing and monitoring the quality assurance procedures for all aspects of the academy’s work to ensure that teaching and learning is always good and becomes outstanding in the academy and is high performing.

Ormiston NEW Academy caters for 11- to 19-year-olds, with 1,087 students on roll. We provide a vibrant learning environment with first-class facilities, and we have been graded Ofsted 'Good'.
