Assistant Principal (Inclusion) job summary

Buckton Fields Primary School is part of the Preston Hedges Trust, a growing, high performing Trust based in Milton Keynes and Northampton.

Buckton Fields is a vibrant, two‑form entry school where ensuring that all children belong and thrive is at the heart of every decision. The school is particularly proud of its creative learning spaces, especially the exceptional Early Years provision, which gives children the very best start to their school journey. The academic year 26/27 is particularly exciting, as the school looks forward to reopening in a brand‑new, cutting-edge school building in 2026.

We are excited to be recruiting for the brand‑new role of Assistant Principal for Inclusion, commencing in September 2026.

The Assistant Principal for Inclusion will provide strategic leadership to embed an inclusive culture across the school, ensuring that every child can achieve their full potential.

This role will be non‑class based and will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

The role will oversee provision for pupils with special educational needs (SEND) and other vulnerable learners, ensuring that all pupils are able to make excellent progress and achieve the best possible outcomes.

We are seeking a leader who is passionate about inclusion and who truly believes that every child thrives when they experience a deep sense of belonging, supported by a shared philosophy of fun, creativity and achievement.

As the Assistant Principal for Inclusion, you will have the opportunity to:

- Be part of a Trust-wide group of Assistant Principals for Inclusion, enabling you to share best practice, seek support and collaborate within a vibrant and supportive professional network.

- Serve as a key member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to whole‑school strategic decision‑making.

- Work closely with the Principal to develop, implement and evaluate the school’s Inclusion Strategy, shaping inclusive practice at both school and trust level, rather than within a single setting alone.

- Engage in high‑quality, continuous professional development within a Trust that is committed to nurturing talent and supporting succession planning for future leadership roles.

Benefit from a bespoke onboarding programme, both prior to starting the role and throughout your induction period, ensuring a supported and successful transition.

- Access a comprehensive wellbeing package, including (but not limited to) free GP consultations for you and your family, physiotherapy and counselling services, as well as leadership coaching.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Successful experience as a leader in education, with a track record of delivering school improvement priorities.

A leader who is passionate about Inclusion

A clear understanding of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.

A commitment to our Trust values of Ambition, Drive, Excellence & One Team
