Our values truly come out in all we do - we are one school and one community, all with a shared commitment to high expectations and inclusive excellence.

At Hadley, children and young people learn well and make strong progress in a safe, caring environment. We champion the gifts and talents of every individual, building confident, aspirational learners with a well-rounded academic and cultural education.

About the role

As Assistant Principal, you will be a key member of the Academy Leadership Team, providing strategic leadership for whole-academy priorities and helping to secure the highest standards of education, teaching, learning and outcomes across both phases of the academy.

This role is not phase-specific and we welcome leaders who are Primary or Secondary trained, but please be aware it is likely the successful candidate will have a focus on Secondary.

Our priority is that the successful candidate has a proven track record of improving outcomes, strengthening curriculum and pedagogy, and building leadership capacity through collaboration, coaching and high-quality professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting ambitious expectations and stretching targets that contribute significantly to academy improvement
  • Using assessment and performance data to evaluate progress, identify underperformance and implement impactful interventions
  • Raising the quality of teaching and learning through monitoring, coaching, mentoring and evidence-informed practice
  • Leading change effectively and contributing to the Academy Improvement Plan, self-evaluation and whole-school development
  • Line managing and developing staff, promoting a culture of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Promoting high standards of behaviour, personal development and wellbeing for all students
  • Building strong partnerships with the wider community

What we’re looking for

  • Successful teaching track record with evidence of strong practice
  • Leadership experience in a school/academy and a proven impact on raising achievement
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and confident use of assessment to drive improvement
  • Ability to motivate, challenge and support staff and students; excellent communication and teamwork
  • A reflective, resilient leader with a clear commitment to safeguarding and the Oasis ethos

Why join Oasis Academy Hadley?

You’ll benefit from:

  • Clear career progression across a large, established trust, with a wealth of development opportunities up for grabs
  • Access to accredited and bespoke development programmes, including the full NPQ suite (in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching)
  • Trust-wide curriculum resources designed to support great teaching and reduce workload
  • Strong networks to share best practice across the trust (including regional collaboration and wider development opportunities)
