Assistant Principal SEND and Inclusion/SENDco job summary
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational Assistant Principal to contribute to a strong and experienced senior leadership team at Alsop High School. As Assistant Principal SEND and Inclusion, you will be our school Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) As SENDCo, you will be an experienced teacher and leader with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs and ensuring a high-quality experience and the strongest possible outcomes for every child. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will bring clear and systematic approaches to supporting the strategic direction and development of all aspects of our SEND provision and adaptive teaching across our school, whilst effectively monitoring and developing the progress and achievement of our students.
As SENDCo you must be a qualified teacher, with extensive experience of teaching and supporting students with SEND, and a holder of the National Award in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASEN) qualification. Leadership and management experience within a school setting is important and evidence of working with or within other organisations that support SEND students would be beneficial. You will have exceptional communication skills to share information with parents, students and staff.
PURPOSE
To support the strategic direction, development and implementation of SEND provision across our school, whilst effectively managing and developing the progress and achievement of our students. The successful candidate will manage our SEND register and ensure high quality provision for students with additional needs and disabilities.
The person appointed will develop our whole school inclusion services, bringing together the areas of additional educational needs and social,
emotional and behavioural support.
