ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Principal – Teaching & Learning to join the senior leadership team at Trinity Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and committed leader to shape the quality of teaching and learning across the school, drive outstanding classroom practice, and secure excellent student outcomes.


As Assistant Principal – Teaching & Learning, you will play a pivotal role in embedding a consistent, knowledge-rich curriculum and ensuring that high-quality teaching is delivered in every classroom. You will work closely with middle and senior leaders to develop staff expertise, foster a culture of excellence, and ensure all students benefit from a rigorous and ambitious education.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide strategic leadership for teaching and learning across the school, ensuring consistently high standards.

• Lead on the implementation and quality assurance of a knowledge-rich curriculum across all key stages.

• Drive improvements in pedagogy through coaching, professional development, and evidence-informed practice.

• Monitor the quality of teaching and learning, using data and evaluation to inform whole-school priorities.

• Support and develop middle leaders to ensure strong departmental leadership and curriculum delivery.

• Lead on whole-school initiatives to improve student outcomes and close attainment gaps.

• Promote a culture of high expectations, consistency, and excellence in line with the school’s ethos.


THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

• A strong academic background, ideally with a 2:1 degree or above.

• Qualified Teacher Status and a proven track record of outstanding teaching.

• Significant experience in leading teaching and learning or a clear vision for whole-school improvement.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence staff at all levels.

• Strong organisational and strategic thinking skills.

• A commitment to high standards and continuous school improvement.

• An unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives, in line with our Trust’s motto, libertas per cultum (freedom through education).
