The governors, staff and students at Brine Leas School are seeking to appoint a dynamic and skilled professional, who will be inspirational and successful. We are looking for a professional that is already experienced in the field of Special Educational Needs. It is desirable for the successful candidate to hold QTS in order to undertake some Teaching responsibilities; however, this is not essential. This role is therefore also open to support staff with SEN professional abilities.
The post requires a mixture of teaching groups of students with EHCPs, assisting the SENCO in running the Learning Support faculty, managing a team of teaching assistants and some teaching or teaching support depending upon the skills, qualification and experience of the successful candidate. The post is therefore open to those with and without QTS, but this will determine the overall job requirement and remuneration.
A successful applicant with QTS will be awarded a TLR2a payment of £2,873 p.a. This can be paid on the main or upper pay range dependent upon experience.
A successful applicant without QTS will receive an allowance equivalent to a TLR 2a (currently £2,873) and will be paid according to the support staff NJC scale on grade 6 depending upon experience.

The successful candidate will support the Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children. The Assistant SENCO is further supported by Teaching Assistants and the Admin team.
