We are committed to high quality teaching and learning, and we seek and embrace strategies to inspire and support our students.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, ambitious and motivated individual to carry out the key role of Assistant SENCo in the Academy from 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday during term time. This exciting role involves working closely with the SENCo to support our SEND students. The successful candidate will be an excellent administrator and will have a genuine rapport with and desire to support our students. You will also be enthusiastic and approachable with a “can-do” attitude and a genuine commitment to providing the best possible educational experience to our students.

What's the best thing about working for OAT? That's easy. The people. Whether it's our pupils, who are diverse and full of character, or our staff, who are committed, full of energy and driven by the purpose of our work. Our people are amazing; we value them and we take care of them.

If you fancy a change of career, we will provide all the right training through a supportive, extended induction package - all you need to bring is enthusiasm, care for children and a good sense of humour.

We offer a competitive package of benefits for our staff including:

  • Employee benefits and wellbeing package
  • Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme
  • The best professional development to support your career, including a comprehensive induction programme with Trust wide career opportunities
  • EAP service which includes free confidential advice to staff and a counselling service available 24/7
  • Access to a contributory pension scheme

Our new colleague will also benefit from being part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a MAT of 43 primary and secondary academies. The Trust’s vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential. OAT support all staff so that they can enhance and develop their professional skills whatever their role within the trust.

If you have any questions about the role or wish to have an informal chat, please contact Julie Damps, Academy HR Manager at jdamps@ormistonsacademy.co.uk, or Jenny Tovey, SENCo at jtovey@ormistonriversacademy.co.uk. Visits to the academy are welcomed.

Closing date for applications: Friday 18th October 2024, 5pm. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
