Assistant SENCO 

Contract: Part Time, Permanent (35 hours per week / 38 weeks per year)

Salary: Grade 4 SP9-12 (FTE £27,254 to £29,540 / Actual £21,556 to £23,365)

Start Date: As soon as possible 

We are seeking an Assistant SENCO to join our school with a commitment to achieving the highest outcomes for all pupils. 

The role includes: 

  • Gathering evidence for EHCNAs
  • Be the point of contact for some external agencies
  • Support the SEND administrator with completion of One Page Profiles and termly review of OPPs
  • Take part in parental meetings
  • Take a leading role in Transition of pupils with additional needs
  • Maintain up-to-date information for SEND
  • Attend weekly SEND meeting with AHT and SEND administrator
  • Ensure SEND statistics are current and accurate
  • Maintain student chronologies
  • Take minutes of meetings to ensure transparency at all times
  • Ability to analyse psychometric data
  • Maintain contact with the parents of SEND students
  • Administer letters to parents
  • Be the point of contact for parents Coordinate round robins, gathering evidence to support students
  • Lead small groups of student intervention and share summaries with parents / carers
  • Develop strong and effective partnerships with all stakeholders
  • Develop and grow strong and effective relationships with all parents
  • Develop strong links with local authorities and our Multi-Academy Trust to ensure opportunities for our SEND students are at the highest level.
