Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding professional who believes they can contribute to our school community in the role of Assistant SENDCO.

The successful candidate will assist the SENDCO in implementing the school's SEND policy and provision. This will involve offering professional guidance to colleagues and collaborating closely with staff, parents and external agencies.

To be successful, you will be an exceptional teacher with a commitment and ability to help all pupils achieve and thrive through your own classroom practice. You will demonstrate ambition for pupils with SEND and an understanding of how to assess and meet the needs of SEND pupils so that outcomes improve as a result of any adapted or additional provision you make. You are committed to the inclusion of pupils with SEND in all aspects of school life. You should be passionate about developing your own knowledge and skills in relation to SEND and the leadership of this area.

About us

Located in the Darlaston area of Walsall, our school is a community in which we believe everyone, students and staff alike, should have the opportunity to belong, learn & grow. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. We are a skilled, passionate and hardworking team; committed to promoting high standards of achievement in education whilst ensuring that pupils are safe, happy and actively engaged in a rich school life.

The school was rated as ‘GOOD’ during our latest OFSTED inspection (July 2024) and we are continuing to make substantial improvements in all areas. We work closely with other schools within the Trust to improve standards and ensure that we are creating the best environment for our students to learn and our staff to develop. We are looking for equally passionate practitioners to join us on the next steps of our school improvement plan.
