Assistant Site Controller and Driver job summary
About this role:
Maintenance and Security - Carry out regular inspections of the premises, grounds, and equipment, helping to maintain a clean and secure environment. Complete maintenance works as required. Work alongside contractors to complete maintenance tasks, works, and refurbishment projects.
Health and Safety Compliance - Assist with routine safety checks, including fire alarm testing and PAT testing, while supporting the School Business Manager with compliance administration such as maintaining accurate maintenance records, and essential servicing schedules. Provide strong administrative support to ensure all health and safety documentation is up to date.
Minibus Driver - Assist with the care and compliance of the school minibus, ensuring it is well maintained, roadworthy, and appropriately documented. This role requires a full driving license held for over a year (D1 category desirable or willingness to train) as the postholder will be required to support with daily student travel in the school minibus. The postholder must also demonstrate the ability to work positively with students, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and a calm, supportive environment during journeys.
About Cranbury College
Cranbury College is a Pupil Referral Unit and Alternative Education provision for young people ranging from 5-16 years old. We support learners who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings and provide preventative support to those who are at risk of permanent exclusion. Additionally, we support those that unintentionally exclude themselves from education and children who cannot access school for medical reasons. We are a multi-site organisation which includes our Primary provision, based at College Road and Secondary provision, based at Cranbury Road. We have Outreach teams that provide specialist support within schools and a Hospital Teaching Service based at Royal Berkshire Hospital who provide education to children on short and long term stays. Cranbury College is a fast paced, energetic setting where we pride ourselves on a strong team ethic, always working together to create a nurturing and supportive setting for our student's alternative pathway to success.
