Assistant Site Manager job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Site Manager at Appleton Academy.
The successful candidate will join an experienced site team working under the supervision of a dedicated and expert Estates Manager. This role occupies a key function within the Academy, providing a high level of support to students and staff and directly supporting the Estates Manager and wider site team to deliver an outstanding learning & working environment and school support services, across the whole of our state of the art building.

The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for the Academy’s buildings, site & facilities, managing issues as they arise and keeping the Strategic Leadership Team informed of developments
- Assist in managing maintenance, improvement and development of the Academy’s buildings & facilities. Organising and managing contractors involved in development works and co-ordinating associated paperwork, permits, licences etc.
- Oversee the Academy’s cleaning contractors, undertaking regular inspections and reporting issues immediately
- Demonstrate a good understanding of all Health and Safety requirements and keep up to date with changes to legislation
- Provide a site caretaking service, supporting with all elements of site-wide maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in a hands-on environment
- Liaise with appropriate contractors to ensure the safety of buildings, fixtures, fittings and equipment including such issues as planned maintenance, painting & decorating, health & safety inspections, fire safety and capital works
- Have a flexible approach and the ability to use their initiative
- Possess excellent communication skills and use those to work effectively in a collaborative staff team
- Have a strong work ethic
- Hold a full UK driving licence
