Assistant Site Manager job summary
King James Academy Royston are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient, flexible and reliable person to work with our dedicated site team in our school rated as Good in our 2024 Ofsted inspection.
To work in our busy school, you must be positive, hard-working and have a strong commitment to high standards of service delivery and customer care.
We require someone who will love and care for our school as much as we do. You will be responsible for security, general maintenance work and repairs, health and safety issues relating to the buildings, cleaning and porterage duties. You need to be able to undertake basic maintenance of heating, lighting, plumbing and security systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. It is essential that you are capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying of equipment and materials. The ideal candidate will work a rolling shift between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., occasional weekend work on a 52 week contract.
A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be an advantage as travel between sites may be required. The successful candidate will undertake statutory Health and Safety checks including daily/weekly/ monthly recording where required, along with being a key holder and attending emergency call-outs for the school. In addition, perform the duties of the Site Manager when required.
King James Academy Royston is a through school formed from the amalgamation of two middle schools and an upper school in 2019. Since 2020 it has been part of the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. It is approximately 12 miles from Cambridge and is within easy access of London.
