Assistant Site Manager job summary
Our opportunity for you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Site Manager to work across our Derby academies. The role will be full time and hours will be set on a rota basis as directed by the Site Manager between the core hours of 6am –10pm on a 2 shift rotation.
The type of person we are looking for will be reliable and organised individual who can prioritise and is capable and willing to support in a wide variety of situations. With a professional and friendly disposition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary phases, with the additional opportunity of being able to work across the Trust as projects arise.
Typically the post will be based at Landau Forte Academy Moorhead, with some travel to Landau Forte College Derby as scheduled with the Site Manager. Our site teams across the Trust work together to ensure that all of our academies have access to the best possible support and as a team we have a number of skilled professionals who work across our Tamworth and Derby sites. This is something that the Trust is keen to build on and we are looking to add to our skilled team.

Education and qualificationsEssential
Basic training in one or more of the following: plumbing, general and ground maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems with an aspiration to complete qualifications potentially via an apprenticeships
Desirable
Good ICT skills including the use of Word and Excel software.
Recognised First Aid qualification.
ExperienceEssential
Experience of minor maintenance (DIY or professional).
Experience of dealing with variety of stakeholders in person, by email, and on the telephone.
Desirable
Experience of working in a school or other site management role.
Undertaking responsibility for the care and maintenance of premises.
Experience of overseeing other works i.e. contractors, cleaners etc.
Experience of working in an office environment or similar.
Knowledge and skills:Essential
Knowledge of basic health and safety skills.
Ability for some heavy lifting, physical fitness appropriate to tasks required.
Excellent organisational skills.
Desirable
Knowledge of the operation of heating, ventilating systems and common causes of malfunctions and energy efficiency measures.

Knowledge of maintenance and security systems and procedures.

Job description
Duties for this job will include:
Maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, to prevent any loss of learning time.
Performance and recording of routine maintenance and safety inspections
Minor alteration projects
Managing the works of external contractors
Clearing and setting up of rooms
Carrying out of maintenance tests
Closing and securing the Academy including activation and deactivation of alarms
Assisting with security issues
Supervision of and ad-hoc assistance to the cleaning staff, as required
