Working Hours: 18.75 Hours per week, 08:45 - 12:30, Monday to Friday (hours can be negotiable across the week)

Working Weeks: Term Time only, INSET Days + 1 Week (40 working weeks)

Pay: Grade B - FTE £24,769 - £25,127 Actual £10,865.02 - £11,022.06

We are looking to employ a part-time assistant teacher to work alongside our teachers to support the learning of children across the school.

What are we looking for in applicants?

  • can work as part of a team
  • will bring enthusiasm, positivity, patience and humour as well as an understanding of child development.
  • has a good standard of English and Mathematics in order to be able to deal with the demands of the curriculum.
  • the ability to foster a classroom environment that embraces diversity and promotes mutual respect among children.
  • good communication skills, being able to communicate sensitively and effectively with parents/carers, keeping them apprised of their child’s progress and concerns, as agreed by the class teacher.

Previous experience working in a school is desirable but not essential as training and development is provided to successful applicants in order to support them and provide the very best for our children.

Responsibilities:

Provide indispensable support to the class teacher, assisting in the delivery of the curriculum and fostering a positive learning environment.

Instil positive values, attitudes, and good behaviour, handling incidents as per the school behaviour policy.

Support the teacher in assessments, documenting observations and tracking pupil progress.

Cover whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers, maintaining continuity of learning.

Assist in the planning and execution of school events and extracurricular activities.

Keep up to date with the curriculum, incorporating new learning strategies and resources.

Execute 1:1 and/or small group interventions, identifying and addressing individual learning needs as required.

Oversee and engage children at lunch, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable mealtime experience.

Adhere to all school policies, including health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection protocols.
