What skills and experience we're looking for
In addition to the roles and responsibilities of classroom teachers,
Ø To raise and maintain high standards of teaching, learning and achievement in Maths
Ø To lead the teaching and learning of Maths in-line with whole school and departmental development priorities
Ø To lead and support the Maths team in the development of good practice in-line with the Holy Trinity Teaching and Learning Standards
Ø To liaise with and support subject leaders in primary and secondary phases to ensure Maths curriculums are impactful and well sequenced
Ø To be a positive role-model for all teaching staff and students and to be fully supportive of the school ethos through your words and actions
Ø To promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils within the school
Ø Create a secondary phase Team Profile and update this as directed to evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Maths
Ø Use the Team Profile as a springboard for writing the Maths Subject Development Plan and review progress towards areas for development periodically as directed
Ø Lead and share best practice in the teaching and learning of Maths across the subject team
Ø Carry out Learning Walks and use the Holy Trinity Teaching and Learning Standard to monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Maths
Ø Manage your time accordingly to carry out other monitoring exercises such as data analysis, work scrutiny, pupil voice to triangulate evidence for subject evaluation
Ø Where pupil learning and progress is good and in-line with the Holy Trinity Standard, celebrate and share good practice. Where learning and progress is not yet good and in-line, offer short term support with mentoring/coaching and/or support in identifying and carrying out suitable training
Ø Participate in continuing professional development in response to whole school and subject specific identified areas for improvement
Ø Be a visible leader for Maths teaching and learning through your own professional development and research based teaching practice
Ø Teach your own high quality lessons in-line with the Holy Trinity Standard
Ø Complete Maths staff appraisals in a sensitive and timely manner, setting appropriate objectives in-line with staff, departmental and whole school priorities and evaluating progress against these
