*Recruitment allowance available for an exceptional candidate
Due to the relocation of the current postholder, we are seeking to appoint a strategic and inspirational leader who can take responsibility for a key priority area: raising achievement in mathematics. In addition to leading on mathematics, the postholder will also lead on another whole school priority area, joining the Associate Leadership Team and adding strategic capacity on wider aspects of school improvement at senior level. This is, therefore, an exciting opportunity to progress leadership and management skills in a school judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’, playing a critical role in driving and sustaining improvements in mathematics.
With a firm commitment to the highest standards of learning, teaching and achievement for all, the successful candidate will have significant experience in leading a team and will join and lead a dedicated team of specialists in a department where academic standards and levels of student attainment are high. With a proven track record of improving and sustaining achievement in mathematics, they will possess the leadership and management skills to lead and implement change, inspire outstanding learning and progress, alongside the ambition, knowledge and determination to ensure that every student enjoys an exceptional mathematics education.
This is a significant leadership role, part of the school’s Associate Leadership Team, and is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in developing their leadership potential at a more senior level. The AAHT: Director of Mathematics, will lead on all aspects of mathematics teaching and will be accountable for the progress and attainment of all students within the subject area and across the key stages. They will be expected to continue to develop a relevant, engaging, and well-sequenced curriculum, to bring fresh ideas and have an unswerving commitment to further drive up standards. Leading on initiatives within mathematics, alongside another area of whole school improvement, this role is key in supporting our vision as a school to provide a world-class education.
