Do you want to be part of a team where you will help make a lasting impact on our students?

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to apply for the position of Associate Assistant Principal of Erdington Academy to teach throughout the age and ability range in our thriving department.

We are committed to a knowledge-rich curriculum and a structured approach to teaching, behaviour and culture. We believe that schools must teach powerful knowledge and, in explicit instruction, the creation of a scholarly culture that is warm and strict, disciplined and happy.

The Maths Department at Erdington is a large and thriving part of a successful school. The team prides itself on its collaborative approach, high standards in teaching and the outcomes it achieves. Applicants will have high aspirations and a proven track record of delivering consistently good teaching which results in high levels of student attainment and progress. In return, you will be part of a successful leadership team who are warm and supportive of each other and receive high-quality CPD that will enable you to further progress and develop. The role will also have an element of whole-school responsibility that is subject to candidates’ experience and development.

You will join a well-led and motivated team committed to continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Set high expectations which motivate and challenge students in a productive learning environment
  • Promote good outcomes by students, planning well-structured lessons
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities with high standards of personal and professional conduct

This is an exciting time to join us and a great opportunity to be involved in the next stage of development of this strong team. Over the last few years, there has been a real drive to develop collaborative planning of a well-sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum in order to ensure our curriculum is inclusive and all students can achieve highly.

This is an ideal opportunity for a colleague who is ambitious, creative and enthusiastic about helping students to learn in a strong, supportive environment.
