Associate Teacher (English) job summary
Chauncy School is an Ofsted OUTSTANDING school in all five categories. Chauncy school prides itself on keeping students safe, happy and successful and it is also a school with a sustained and active approach to staff training and development. Many colleagues currently working at the school were trained and became qualified teachers through a variety of routes into the profession. This role is aimed at a candidate who is not a qualified teacher but is interested in developing their career in education.
The role of Associate Teacher is a new and exciting role, working principally with The English Department to promote high levels of literacy and progress towards GCSE qualifications. It further provides the opportunity to teach lessons in collaboration with existing teachers across the wider curriculum, utilising resources planned and prepared by experienced colleagues.
The successful candidate will also be able to access support and training to further their career and for a suitably qualified individual, support towards achieving QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) will be available alongside the duties performed as Associate Teacher.

Essential Qualities:
A confident, enthusiastic and committed individual with an interest in secondary education
A person with excellent communication skills and a high level of competence in spoken and written English Language
A person able to empathise and support young learners in a positive but professional manner
A person with initiative and drive who is adaptable and can carry out duties with minimal guidance
Desirable Qualities
A long term interest in becoming a teacher
A degree in English
