📅 Start Date: January 2026
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and proactive Therapeutic Lead to join our dedicated team.
Working closely with the SENDCo and School Counsellor, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering our therapeutic offer to support students’ emotional and social wellbeing.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about mental health, has experience supporting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and is motivated by helping students re-engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individual and small group therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor and support students’ emotional progress and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the SENDCo, teaching staff, and external agencies to identify and address SEMH needs.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and carers, supporting home-school communication.
- Contribute to student support plans, record progress, and evaluate the impact of interventions.
- Support students in lessons and provide 1:1 support where needed.
- Promote inclusion, self-esteem, and resilience in all students.
- Be a visible, supportive presence across the school community.
About You
You will be a reflective practitioner who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience.
- An understanding of restorative practice and trauma-informed approaches.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Desirable:
- Further training or qualifications in therapeutic interventions or SEMH support.
- Experience working within alternative provision or special education settings.
- A full UK driving licence.
