Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for a highly motivated, resilient individual to join our all-through school as a key person in promoting the highest levels of inclusion and pupil attendance.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver our attendance strategy, working closely with senior leaders to design impactful interventions that boost both attendance and engagement. You will work directly with pupils and their families, building strong relationships. Key aspects of the role include:

  • monitoring and analysing attendance data and share trends with Year Leaders;
  • working closely and collaboratively with Leaders to devise and implement interventions to increase both attendance and engagement of pupils;
  • providing support to pupils and parents/carers, including support within lessons as part of reintegration and Return to Learn;
  • implementing the school’s attendance strategy including all communication with parents;
  • undertaking home visits to support improved attendance;
  • working with outside agencies to share information, advocate for pupils at The Westgate School as well as organise Education Planning Meetings;
  • being committed to supporting the school strategy for reading and literacy for learning.

The role is as part of our Pupil Support Team (all-through)and will be predominantly based in our Secondary Phase although some work with Key Stage 2 will be part of the role.
