About the Role
Reporting to the Education Welfare Officer, the Attendance and Welfare Officer is a pivotal position, supporting the management of student attendance and wellbeing across the school. The work involves daily logging of attendance, tracking of registers and follow-up of absences, plus direct work with students and parents to investigate and improve attendance rates. The post is responsible for overseeing student medication and helping to coordinate and medical care plans.
As context for this role, applicants must have a knowledge of school attendance and safeguarding legislation. Proficiency in Excel and MIS systems is essential, as is the ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Your personal qualities will include excellent communication skills, plus the ability to develop good, professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. To succeed in this role you will be reliable, solution-focussed, and able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
