An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to join as a member of our pastoral team in the role of Attendance Improvement Mentor.
This is a vital new role and serves as a key point of contact for Parents/Carers, colleagues and external agencies when a pupil is absent from our school.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate who will uphold the school’s vision and values, to ensure excellent outcomes for our children promoting punctuality and great attendance for all.
Key Responsibilities include
Ensuring all systems and processes used to monitor and record attendance are fully utilised across the school
Supervision and support of staff in order to maintain absences and lateness at an acceptable level
Working in partnership with pupils, parents/ carers, colleagues, and external agencies to identify attendance issues, implementing the appropriate support and referral strategies
To be successful in this role you will be someone who has
An understanding of attendance monitoring and general office procedures and practice
Excellent organisation and planning skills, able to work on your own initiative and within existing teams
Experience of using Microsoft Office Suite and school ICT systems
The ability to engage with pupils and their families to create strong links with school to uphold policies that promote student welfare

Oulton Primary is a recently refurbished school that boasts an attractive spacious working environment.
