What skills and experience we're looking for
The Attendance Officer will support the Attendance Team in promoting excellent school attendance, through a whole school approach involving students, parents/carers and engaging with agencies (as appropriate) to improve the outcomes for our students. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the school’s attendance procedures. Working closely with the Attendance and Educational Welfare Manager, the Attendance Intervention and Family Support Worker and wider pastoral teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate record-keeping of student school.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player but also be capable of working promptly and proactively with minimal supervision. You will require a calm and composed manner, outstanding communication skills and be able to nurture positive working relationships with students, parents/carers, staff and school leaders.
The successful candidate is required to have a good working knowledge of school management information software (Arbor) and be efficient on Microsoft Applications, including Word and Excel. You must have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 or above. In addition, a full valid, clean driving licence and access to own vehicle for work purposes is a mandatory requirement (mileage will be reimbursed).
