Home School Liaison and Attendance Officer (TTO + 1 week)

This critical role at Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to positively impact attendance in a vibrant, welcoming and supportive school.. As well as effecting a change in mindset amongst some of our most disadvantaged students, you will have the authority and opportunity to interact directly with families for whom education has never been a positive experience. Your direct involvement will have the potential to convert longstanding negative attitudes into advocates and ambassadors for education. It is a truly transformative position of great importance, where success improves the life chances of the most vulnerable and under-served. Not many jobs offer that.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who LOVES working with children and has a knack for interacting with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. You’ll be empathetic, curious and able to handle challenging conversations.

You’ll have experience of working within a school attendance related role and will have a track record of engagement with external professional agencies.

You must be passionate about student attendance, behaviour and wider inclusion and have an understanding of the issues affecting truancy and non-school attendance.
