At St Teresa’s, attendance matters because every day in school is a day filled with curiosity, joy, and opportunity. We are looking for someone who shares our belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive.

Your Role

As our Attendance Officer, you will play a vital part in supporting families and improving attendance across the school. Your work will help ensure that every child can access the high-quality education we are so proud to offer.

You will:

  • Build strong relationships with families, supporting them in fulfilling their legal responsibilities.
  • Visit homes and work closely with our pastoral leaders to identify barriers and remove them through compassion, challenge, and partnership.
  • Monitor, record, and analyse attendance data—spotting trends, identifying concerns, and helping shape strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with pupils, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to improve attendance and punctuality.
  • Act promptly where persistent absence becomes a safeguarding concern.
  • Support the smooth running of the school through high-quality administrative work.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is highly motivated, personable, and a true team player.
  • Has experience working in a busy administrative or education setting.
  • Communicates confidently with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Can stay calm under pressure and brings warmth, positivity, and resilience to the role.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining accurate records.
  • Brings enthusiasm, humour, and a caring approach to their daily interactions.

This is a permanent, term-time-only role working 7.5 hours per week.
