Attendance Officer Vacancy
Woodchurch Road Academy is embarking on an exciting new chapter of transformation and growth, having joined Cheshire Academies Trust in October 2023. With a new Senior Leadership Team, a refreshed ethos, and a strong focus on positive change, the school is quickly becoming a hub of opportunity for staff, pupils, and the local community.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Attendance Officer to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview
As the Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s attendance strategy by fostering positive relationships with pupils and their families. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the accuracy and integrity of attendance records, monitoring pupil attendance, and providing regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team. You will work proactively to identify attendance trends, address concerns, and support interventions to improve overall pupil engagement.

The role is term time only (38 weeks) and 15 hours per week (8.30am - 11.30am, Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records for all pupils.
  • Monitor and report on pupil attendance trends, liaising with staff, pupils, and families as needed.
  • Follow up on absences in a timely and sensitive manner.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategies that promote good attendance.
  • Support interventions for pupils with poor attendance and work collaboratively with external agencies when required.
