Are you someone who cares about helping young people show up, succeed and feel supported every day?
Do you have the confidence to challenge when it matters, balanced with the compassion and courtesy to build trust?
Are you curious about the reasons behind absence, and committed to making a lasting difference?
If so, Thomas Deacon Academy is looking for you!
Your role:
You will be at the heart of academy life, promoting high expectations for attendance and punctuality, ensuring students start their day positively. From leading breakfast club to maintaining a visible presence across the school, you will build strong relationships rooted in compassion, while showing the confidence and courage to challenge when standards fall short.
Working closely with students, families and staff, you will use your curiosity to understand barriers to attendance and your commitment to put effective support in place. Clear, courteous communication and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly will be essential, along with strong organisation and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, can think on their feet and take initiative, and has the curiosity to understand each student’s story. You will bring strong organisational skills, confidence using IT systems, and the ability to build trust with a wide range of people. Experience working with young people and managing behaviour is key, and experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
About us:
You will join a small, friendly Attendance Team who work alongside parents / legal guardians and professionals to develop the best strategies for each of our students to promote and encourage good school attendance.
In return, you will gain a role where your work is purposeful and valued. Every conversation you have, every intervention you lead, and every student you support contributes directly to improving outcomes and shaping futures. At Thomas Deacon Academy, you are not just monitoring attendance, you are championing opportunity, building character, and helping young people develop the confidence, commitment and courage they need to succeed
