Autism/Social Communication Outreach Teacher job summary

Full Time UNQ Teacher Grade 1-6 FTE £22,601-£35,259 plus SEN £2787 per annum

OR

0.6 Teacher MPG 1-6 FTE £32,916-£45,353 plus SEN £2787 FTE with possibility of UPS 1-3 plus SEN for a suitably qualified / experienced candidate

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Outreach Team (4- 19 years) you will provide support and challenge to empower mainstream staff, in meeting the needs of children, young people and their families. You will build the capacity and confidence of staff in teaching and learning approaches which break down barriers to both academic and social learning, helping children and young people fulfil their potential. These will often include strategies to support sensory differences, develop engagement, social knowledge, and emotional understanding, relating to social communication differences and/or Autism.

You should have:

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage your time effectively and work flexibly.
  • Evidence of appropriate, current Professional learning.
  • A positive and caring approach and commitment to children and young people.
  • The ability to build positive relationships quickly.
  • Ability to plan and deliver training workshops as part of WTT’s central offer and to schools, families and professional colleagues both online and in-person.
  • Proven experience of impacting positively with autistic children and young people or those with social communication differences
  • Have passion and motivation to make a real difference to the lives of young people with autism, social communication differences.
  • Work collaboratively with LCC agencies around the setting and/or pupil
  • A clean driving license and your own transport.
