Before & After School Club Assistant job summary

Shibden Head Primary Academy are seeking to recruit a Shine Club Assistant to work between the hours of 7am - 8:45am and 3pm - 6pm Monday to Friday term time only. The contract will initially be on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2026 .

The successful candidate will need to be a team player who can multi-task effectively, develop good working relationships with all the staff, be helpful and welcoming to parents, and children as well as being a good role model and to be aware aof nd respond appropriately to individual needs. You will be responsible for warmly greeting and registering children as they arrive and allocating them to a pre-prepared activity. You will be responsible for supervision during both indoor and outdoor activities as well as during their snack times, ensuring any medical needs are addressed.

Deputy Designated Safeguarading Lead, First aid trained and Level 2 in food hygiene would be an advantage. To be aware of and work in accordance with the school’s child protection policies and procedures to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to raise any concerns relating to such procedures which may be noted on the appropriate platform during duty.

Shibden Head is one of three schools serving the village of Queensbury, on the outskirts of

Bradford. Queensbury is one of the highest parishes in England, with views to the hills of Brontë

Country and the Yorkshire Dales to the north and north-west. We have just over 400 primary

aged pupils, the majority of whom are of White British heritage. We converted to an academy

on 1st March 2013, joining Focus-Trust. We are delighted by the level of highly skilled professional
